Summary: The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies — humans with extraordinary abilities — who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone... except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.
Coming from a complete 3 book series, Renegades is a superpower novel that initially feels cliched, but adds an interesting twist- the protagonist is a villain. The story gives a really great perspective between both heroes and villains, and dynamics between the two are really thought out. It takes established cliche superhero stories and flips it on its side. And the protagonist isn’t just in it for the money- she has some very good reasons to go villain, and makes you question who really are the bad guys: the heroes or the villains. Renegades has some amazing character development, and some really creative scenes which really displays how much time the author put into the story. That said, there is romance in the story, so if you really REALLY don’t like that genre, you could skip out on the story. If you choose to continue through the series, overall, it’s an amazing story with a well thought-out storyline.
